VENDOR VETTING PROCESS
The following is an outline of the process used by the HR Vendor
Services Committee to identify Reasonable, Reliable and
Responsible Vendors

Compile list from Various Sources including recommendations from
HR residents
* Telephone potential vendor to determine interest; current status
--Discuss Program (no $ charge but must pass vetting process). Vendor is
not informed of "no-pass".
--Develop Vendor Service Profile for each type of service category
--Verify company name, address, tel. #, e-mail and primary contact name
(manager or owner)
--Determine qualifications: Years in business, # of employees, # of
contractors (if any), bonded/insured, warranty on parts/labor, member or
not of Chamber of Commerce, references (especially if any at Heritage
Ranch). Method of payment (credit cards, etc.), discounts (if any) for
senior citizens/Heritage Ranch residents.
--Open question: What do you do to help assure that your services will be
judged as superior to your competitors?

* Separate telephone call to Better Business Bureau for their
report (law suits, complaints, etc.). Program Manager may
telephone references if such action seems appropriate.
**Note that some of these questions will vary depending on the
type of service the vendor provides.

* Review/Consolidate…Format for publication in Vendor Binders
and elsewhere…publish

* Up-date Summary Vendor information every six (6) to eight (8)
months; up-date detailed information in Vendor Binder on an
on-going basis.
